Life lately...

It's been almost a year since I posted anything here.  To say that things have changed is a massive understatement.

We moved to Michigan to take a church position at the beginning of May...by the middle of October, we were back in Florida and living with my parents.  Almost as soon as we arrived in Michigan, we knew we had made a mistake.  Unfortunately, we decided to live with the mistake and find a new place to settle, but our employers felt differently.  We were let go at the end of August and were completely adrift in this strange place.  Alone, scared, and ready to get out of there.

The last few months have been nothing short of humbling.  My parents have welcomed us with open arms, but this isn't an ideal situation for any of us.  Sailor is (thankfully) so young that she probably won't remember any of this time (or any of our time in MI, which is so great).  I'm heartbroken at the behavior of people at the church in Michigan...of people in leadership, people who share the same faith as we do, but were so terrible to us.  Forgiveness is a long, hard road, but it's one that I'm trying to travel and navigate with grace.

We're now hoping and praying that God has the perfect place for us in His plan!  And we know that He does, it's just that His timing is often and predictably different than ours...and that's okay.  We're excited for the next chapter of our ministry...for what He has planned for us, and the work we can do to further the kingdom.

If anyone reads this, all we ask for are your prayers.  We need them more than ever!

Dresser/Changing table makeover.

When I was pregnant with Sailor, I was determined to decorate as much of her room myself as I could.  I did not, under any circumstances, want to go to a store and buy a nursery-in-a-bag or any other ready-made things.  So, I started looking for a dresser that I could makeover on craigslist, and I found this beauty.  I don't actually have a good before picture, but it was a poopy brown color, with a black top.

(Please note that all of these "before" pictures were taken at my parents house!)

I decided to paint the dresser a turquoise blue color, and make the top white.  I LOVE how it turned out.

And the after pictures:

The knobs are probably my favorite part of the whole thing, to be honest.  They're from Anthropologie, and my mom bought them for me, because she knows that I'm in love with that store, but it's a little too rich for my blood.

I am so fail.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I'm a crappy blogger.  I have such high hopes for myself, but this one keep distracting me.

Daily Nail(polish)

This little gem is American Apparel Neon Red polish and I love it.  What I don't love, however, is that I can't leave it on my nails for very long.  It's SO distracting.  I love the color, but the neon is out of control.  I took these pictures forever ago, but I painted my nails this color again yesterday, and have already changed it, because it's so cray.
